Clinical Neurophysiology (Neurodiagnostics Lab)
Dr. Imam is board certified and Fellowship trained in clinical neurophysiology with emphasis on neuromuscular disorders and epilepsy.
The neurophysiology clinic provides diagnosis and treatment of muscle and nerve diseases such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, tarsal tunnel syndrome, plexopathy, wrist drop, foot drop, cervical radiculopathy, lumbar radiculopathy, myopathy, myositis, myotonia, myotonic dystrophies, peripheral neuropathy, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), and acute inflammatory demyelinating neuropathy (AIDP), periodic paralysis (hypokalemic, hyperkalemic periodic paralysis), and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
The neuro-diagnostic lab provides state of the art diagnostic tests, such as electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction study (NCS), and evoked potential study (EPS) to aid in the diagnosis of the disorders indicated above.
Evoked potential studies include Brain Stem Auditory Evoked Potential (BAER), Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) studies, and somatosensory evoked potentials (SEP).
All NCS and EMG tests are performed by Dr. Imam and not by a technician or ancillary staff.
This clinic also provides botulinum toxin (BOTOX®) treatment for wide variety of neurological disorders, such as cervical dystonia, torticollis, blephrospasms, or hemifacial spasms, etc. Dr. Imam is one of the few neurologists in the DFW area who has extensive experience with the use of botulinum toxin injections.
